Fiji is one of those strains that quietly outperforms expectations: a brisk coloniser with a genuine reputation for resilience, shrugging off the sort of conditions that would leave fussier varieties sulking. It has become a well-regarded pick among enthusiasts who value dependability over drama.
The look is neat rather than grand. Fiji tends towards smaller, tidy fruits with pale golden to light tan caps that often keep a bell-ish, slightly conical shape rather than flattening right out, sitting on slim, pale stems. What it lacks in size it makes up for in numbers — this one comes up in dense, crowded clusters, and there's something rather satisfying about the sheer tidiness of it. The spore print is a deep purple-black, and it drops willingly, which is exactly what you want when the slide is the whole point.
Something to keep in mind: it's a quick one. Fiji colonises fast and fruits with real conviction, and those tight clusters mean things develop close together and all at once. The window for a clean print arrives sooner than the more leisurely strains would have you expect, so it pays to be paying attention.

Storage: Keep your spores refrigerated, not frozen, from the moment you receive them. Pop them in the fridge straight away, and they’ll happily keep for a couple of months and, in perfect conditions, even for years.
