JMF doesn't have the name recognition of the big beginner strains, and it isn't trying to — it's a brisk, capable coloniser with a reputation for getting on with the job and a look that sets it slightly apart from the crowd. Growers who've worked their way through the usual suspects tend to come back to this one for its speed and its character.
That character shows up in the fruits. JMF is known for caps that are often huge, and the line has a general fondness for producing the odd unconventional shape. Colouring runs golden through to warm tan, with pronounced blue bruising where handled. It's a strain that keeps a grower interested — no two flushes look quite the same.
Something to keep in mind: that same willingness to throw shapes means JMF is a little less predictable than a heavily isolated line. Expect some variation in form, and the occasional genuinely strange fruit. It also tends to prefer conditions kept consistently stable — it's not delicate, but it responds more visibly than most to fluctuations in humidity and fresh air exchange, which makes it better suited to someone who's already got their setup dialled in.
A little history: Myco Joe was out walking one day in Georgia hunting mushrooms and came across a patch of huge cubensis mushrooms. He took them home, cloned and isolated the genetics, and after some time and many runs of the mushrooms, he was satisfied with the results. He showed his friends his bountiful harvest and they went for a walk in the woods, everybody ended up having a mass hallucination, Ewoks, Yoda and all manner of star wars hallucinations, the mushrooms were more potent than what they thought they would be and surprised most of the group. Hence the name Jedi Mind Fuck.
Storage: Keep your spores refrigerated, not frozen, from the moment you receive them. Pop them in the fridge straight away, and they’ll happily keep for a couple of months and in perfect conditions, even for years.
Remember: All our products are sold for microscopy purposes ONLY; do not try to grow mushrooms with any of our products; that would be illegal and very naughty.
